In the second quarter of 2024, the leading Food and Drink applications in Egypt demonstrated varied trends in downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps on a unified platform.
talabat: Food, grocery & more experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at around 40.3K in early April and peaking at approximately 70.3K in the second week. The downloads hovered around 38K to 42K through May, before climbing again to reach nearly 60K by mid-June. Active users followed a similar pattern, beginning at around 908K and peaking at 1.13M in late June.
InstaShop: Grocery Delivery saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from about 17.4K in April and ending with approximately 21.2K in mid-June. The active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 51.4K in early April to about 55.5K by the end of June.
McDonald’s - Non-US showed an interesting trend in downloads, rising from 5K in the first week of April to nearly 22K by the last week of June. The active users, however, exhibited a decline, starting at 110K and dropping to about 91K by the end of the quarter.
KFC Egypt - Order Food Online had a peak in downloads at around 19.7K in early April, which then stabilized around 13K to 14K throughout the quarter. Active users fluctuated, starting at 207K and ending at approximately 165K by late June.
Lastly, Breadfast: Groceries And More saw a decrease in downloads from 20.9K in early April to about 15K by the end of June. Active users showed a slight decline initially but recovered to around 31.4K by the end of the quarter.
